Improvements in Release 2:
Release 2 has some minor improvements to the program and includes many more translations of the works into English from the original Latin.

The theological Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg are ideally suited to a computerized search program because the paragraphs in the books are sequentially numbered. This results in quantities of text that are usually shorter than a page and which are not affected by differing printed editions and translations. Thus searching for a word or combination of words produces a list of books with numbers, indicating the paragraph in which the word or phrase is found.
NewSearch 98 does not contain the text of the Old and New Testaments apart from the Pentateuch, which is a New Church translation of the first five books of the Old Testament, because this translation is not available in any other electronic format.
NewSearch 98 is produced by the STAIRS Project, a group at the Academy of the New Church, under the direction of Dr. Charles H. Ebert. Mr. Erik Martin developed and has improved the search engine program. The text for NewSearch 98 is under the supervision of the Rev. Brian W. Keith.
